History of Masia Cabellut

Grape cultivation in this region dates back to Roman times. The masia itself stretches back to the 12th century and was officially established by Josep Bondo de la Bisbal del Penedés in 1745. By the late 1800s, it served as a stopover for pilgrims and travellers along the old Roman road. Today, Masia Cabellut produces its own wines, cava, and olive oil — flavours that guests can enjoy during their stay and, of course, on their wedding day.

The property features multiple ceremony locations, all framed by natural surroundings and sweeping views of the valley. The ideal location depends on your guest count and desired layout. In our experience, weddings with around 100 guests are a perfect fit. Larger events can be a logistical challenge, as the venue is primarily accessible by minibuses.

Popular ceremony spots include the Dry Gardens, the lawn area, the almond grove, and the main entrance patio. Each offers a unique atmosphere — from open-air celebrations to more intimate settings.

Cocktail hour

Couples can choose from several options for cocktail hour. Many prefer the pool area, which offers plenty of space for guests to mingle and enjoy the setting. Another option is the Dry Gardens, located near the main ceremony area. Keep in mind that none of these outdoor spaces have natural shade, so sun umbrellas are essential for weddings during the warmer months (June–September).

Dinner options

Dinner can be hosted in the marquee tent, which comfortably accommodates both dining and dancing. The marquee is always set up during wedding season as a dedicated back-up space in case of bad weather.

For larger weddings, it’s necessary to pre-book a second tent for the ceremony to ensure there is a comfortable and suitable alternative if needed. For smaller weddings of up to 40 guests, the main entrance courtyard creates a cozy, intimate dining experience.
