Are you looking to elope to Barcelona, and searching for the perfect spot? Here are a few of our favourite places that we think you’ll love.
S’Agaro

S’Agaro is a small seaside village located in a beautiful area of the Costa Brava, about 1 hour 15 min drive from Barcelona city. We suggest you have Hostal La Gavina as a reference point. Don’t let the name of the hotel fool you, it’s a five star hotel in traditional Spanish style. You can take a walk directly from the hotel on the Camino de Ronda de S’Agaro. The path has beautiful views of the sea and the coast. There is also a view point Mirador del S’Agaró, as well as some other architecture. Bonus point, it’s possible to do weddings at this hotel as well, and just close by in the same neighbourhood you’ll find a beautiful pavilion which is a stunning place for a ceremony.
Sitges

Sitges is a coastal town located just a 40 min drive south from Barcelona – and the home of Studio Marieta! You will be surprised by the beauty and authenticity of this little town. It’s a perfect place for a day trip if you are staying in Barcelona. Sitges also has some really nice hotels in case you’d prefer to spend the night, we recommend Hotel MiM Sitges, and ME Sitges Terramar. The village used to be a fisherman’s village, which you can tell by the white façades. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and it’s a great destination for groups of friends, couples and families. It does get crowded in high season.
There are many possibilities for elopements in Sitges. Beaches, the port, cliffs by the sea. You’ll also find natural environments such as the Garraf Natural Park, if you don’t mind hiking a bit, or the coast line between Sitges and Vilanova also has a few really nice view points.
Tossa de Mar

This little gem is located on the Costa Brava, about 1,5 hours drive north of Barcelona. It’s a popular holiday destination and offers lovely beaches. There’s a cute, old town with a medieval castle, old church ruins and a medieval defence wall which gives the place it’s character. And not to forget, beautiful views over the sea and the boats. I would personally find a spot with the sea as a backdrop.

Cadaqués

Cadaqués is known for it’s beauty and picturesque surroundings. It’s also known for being home of world famous surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. It has also inspired other artists, writers and poets such as Picasso, Federico García Lorca with it’s beauty. The village is located about 2 hours and 15 min drive north from Barcelona, the French border is only 1 hour away if you want to continue towards the French riviera afterwards.
Cap de Creus

Cap de Creus is the headland where the Pyrenees reach the Mediterranean. The mountains gives the entire area a very special environment. It’s rocky and rough views are absolutely breathtaking. You can easily “escape” to Cap de Creus if you are staying in Cadaqués which is the main city in the area. It’s located about 2,5 hours drive north from Barcelona.
Calella de Palafrugell

Calella de Palafrugell is another tiny but beautiful village on Costa Brava which really has the Mediterranean essence. Not to be mixed up with Calella, which is another city located much closer to Barcelona. Calella de Palafrugell is located about 1,5 hours from Barcelona.
Jardi Botánic Marimurtra in Blanes

Blanes is considered as the starting point of Costa Brava (translation, the rugged coast). Here we can find a botanical garden called Jardi Botánic Marimurtra which is located just in front of the sea, the views are breathtakingly beautiful. Temple de Linné is an ideal spot for photo sessions, and it’s also possible to rent the area in exclusivity for a short amount of time if you want your ceremony or proposal to take place here. The park is located about 1 hour drive from Barcelona.
Jardines de Santa Clotilde in Lloret de Mar

Jardines de Santa Clotilde is another beautiful park by the sea, located about 1 hour north from Barcelona in Lloret de Mar. There are many romantic spots in this park.
Parc del Laberint d’Horta

A neo-classic park located in the Horta district of Barcelona. The park is beautiful but needs a bit of maintenance (the maze area), but there are still beautiful areas in the park. We recommend you avoid Wednesdays and Sundays as those days the entrance is free of charge, and it might be more crowded than usual. Spring is the most beautiful time here.. Update: As per 2026 this park is undergoing maintenance and is not open for visits at the moment.
