One of the things that makes Barcelona special is the number of rooftop terraces across the city. They feel like little urban escapes, perfect for meeting up and sharing a welcome drink when guests arrive. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than that.
We’ve put together a selection of our favourite spots—places with atmosphere, style, and that easy Barcelona charm.
Terraza de Vivi at Hotel Kimpton Vividora
The rooftop Terraza de Vivi at Hotel Kimpton Vividora sits above the Gothic Quarter, right in the heart of Barcelona’s old town. It’s an intimate, design-led space with a lush, urban feel and sweeping views over the historic rooftops.
For events, the rooftop can host up to 90 guests in cocktail format. It feels private and well considered, with a relaxed atmosphere that works well for welcome drinks or intimate celebrations in the city centre.

The Pulitzer Terrace at Hotel Pulitzer
The Pulitzer Terrace is on top of Hotel Pulitzer, just off Plaça Catalunya. You’re right in the centre of the city, but once you’re up there it feels a bit more relaxed than the streets below.
It’s a fairly spacious rooftop with a good buzz, music in the background, and people coming and going throughout the evening. For events, the terrace can host up to 130 guests in standing cocktail format, making it a solid choice for larger welcome drinks or lively evening gatherings.

Rooftop at Casa Bonay
The rooftop at Casa Bonay sits on top of Hotel Casa Bonay in the Eixample district, not far from Passeig de Gràcia. It’s a small, relaxed space with a cosy feel rather than a big rooftop setup.
The main terrace, known as Chiringuito, has a beach-meets-jungle vibe that makes it feel a bit different from the typical city rooftop. It’s laid-back, a little playful, and works well for informal gatherings.
For events, it’s best suited to smaller groups—around 50 people max in standing cocktail format —so it’s ideal for welcome drinks or intimate celebrations rather than larger parties.

Tope @ Hotel Hoxton
Tope sits on top of The Hoxton in Poblenou, in the Glòries area of Barcelona. It’s a rooftop taqueria with open views over the city and a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
The menu is focused on Mexican-inspired food, with tacos, sharing plates, and margaritas at the centre of it all. There’s also a pool and plenty of space to spread out, which makes it just as good for a long lunch as it is for sunset drinks that drift into the evening.
For events, the rooftop can host up to around 130 guests in standing cocktail format, making it a strong option for larger gatherings with a lively, social feel.

Alaire at Hotel Condes de Barcelona
Alaire sits on the 8th floor of Hotel Condes de Barcelona, right on Passeig de Gràcia. It’s a large, modern rooftop of around 320 m², with plenty of open space and some of the best views in the city.
From up there, you look straight over the avenue, with La Pedrera in front and the Sagrada Família visible in the distance. It’s a lively setting throughout the day and into the evening, often used for drinks, dinners, and private events.
For cocktail-style events, it can host up to around 300 guests in cocktail style format, making it a great option in the city centre for slightly larger weddings or celebrations. At the same time, it also works well for smaller, more intimate gatherings thanks to its flexible layout.

The Roof at Hotel The Barcelona Edition
The Roof at The Barcelona EDITION sits on the 10th floor of the hotel in El Born, right on the edge of the Gothic Quarter. It’s a lush, design-led rooftop with panoramic views over the city, a small plunge pool, and plenty of greenery that gives it a slightly hidden, garden-in-the-sky feel.
It’s one of those rooftops that feels both polished and relaxed at the same time—popular for sunset drinks, DJ sessions on weekends, and private events.
For events, it can host up to around 90 guests for cocktail-style receptions.
And beyond the rooftop itself, the hotel also has a private underground space (Cabaret) that can be rented exclusively, which makes it a strong option if you want to combine an open-air rooftop with a more club-style indoor setting.

Rooftop @ Hotel Serras
The rooftop at Hotel Serras sits above Port Vell, right between the Gothic Quarter and Barceloneta. It’s a small, intimate terrace with open views over the marina and out towards the sea.
It feels more like a relaxed hideaway than a big rooftop venue—easygoing, with a focus on sunset drinks, light food, and a calm atmosphere that works well for smaller groups.
For events, it can host up to around 70 guests in cocktail format

Rooftop @ Hotel La Duquesa de Cardona
The rooftop at Hotel La Duquesa de Cardona sits on Passeig de Colom, right on the edge of the Gothic Quarter, overlooking Port Vell. It’s a classic Barcelona rooftop with wide views over the marina, set in a historic building that gives it a lot of character.
It’s a relaxed space with restaurant and terrace seating, ideal for cocktails, tapas, or longer dinners with a view. The atmosphere is easygoing and social, especially at sunset when the port lights up.
For events, the rooftop can host up to around 120 guests in cocktail-style format, making it a solid option for mid-sized gatherings with a strong waterfront backdrop.

Rooftop at Hotel SB Glow
The rooftop at Hotel SB Glow is located in the Glòries area, one of Barcelona’s more modern business districts. It’s a contemporary space with clean lines, a pool, and open views over the city skyline.
From the terrace you get a direct view of the Torre Glòries, one of Barcelona’s most recognisable landmarks, especially striking when it lights up at night. The setting feels urban and modern, with a more international hotel vibe than some of the city’s older rooftops.
For events, it can host up to around 150 guests in cocktail format, making it a good option for larger gatherings in a more contemporary part of the city.

La Isabela, at Hotel 1898
The rooftop at Hotel 1898 (La Isabela) sits right on La Rambla, in the heart of the city. It’s a calm, elevated terrace with wide views over Barcelona’s rooftops, stretching from the old town towards the sea.
It’s a relaxed space with a pool, loungers, and a bar area, where guests come for cocktails, light bites, and an easy sunset atmosphere above the busy streets below. Even though it feels intimate in parts, the terrace is quite versatile and works for both small gatherings and larger groups.
For cocktail-style events, it can host up to around 120–150 guests, depending on the layout and use of the different areas.

La Terraza del Central at Grand Hotel Central
La Terraza del Central sits on the top floor of Grand Hotel Central, right in the heart of the old town. It offers some of the best panoramic views in Barcelona, stretching over the Gothic Quarter and out towards the sea.
It’s a sleek rooftop with an infinity pool and a relaxed but upscale atmosphere, especially in the evenings when the city lights start to come on. The vibe is polished but easygoing, making it a popular spot for both hotel guests and private events.
For events, it can host up to 150 guests in cocktail format, making it a strong option for medium-sized gatherings in a very central location.
